Consistent grades for kitchens and processors
Specialty dried seafood is often bought as a commodity, which is where quality problems start: mixed sizes, uneven drying and grit that only shows up in the finished dish. We grade every line by size or count, color and dryness, and keep processors’ lots separate so that a buyer who approves one shipment receives the same character in the next.
For food manufacturers we can agree tighter tolerances on size distribution, salt and moisture, and supply in bulk formats that suit automated handling.
What we check before shipment
Our pre-shipment inspection focuses on the defects buyers in this category complain about most. Results and photographs are shared before goods leave the origin warehouse.
- Grit and sand, especially in clams, mussels and razor clams
- Salt level and surface bloom
- Color uniformity, without undeclared colorants
- Moisture, mold and insect damage
- Odor, rancidity and breakage
Formats for every channel
We supply bulk cartons for processors and repackers, 1 kg foodservice packs for restaurant groups, and retail-ready packs for supermarkets and Asian grocers. Our private-label program covers pack design support, labeling in the required languages and allergen declarations for fish, crustaceans and molluscs.
Specialty dried seafood ships well alongside our premium marine delicacies, so many distributors consolidate both ranges into a single container.

FAQ
Specialty Dried Seafood: buyer questions
Can’t find your answer? Speak with an export specialist.
Do you supply dried shrimp without added color?
Yes, on request. Availability depends on origin and season, and we confirm additive status in writing for each lot. All additives, where used, are declared in line with the rules of your destination market.
Can you supply shredded or seasoned squid for snack production?
We supply whole dried squid and cuttlefish as raw material for snack producers, and can source shredded or seasoned formats from approved processors to your specification.
How do you control grit in dried shellfish?
Grit is controlled at origin by purging and washing before drying, and checked during our inspection by cooking a portion of each lot. Lots that fail our grit check are not shipped.
What shelf life should I expect?
Most specialty dried seafood keeps for 12 to 18 months in sealed packaging under cool, dry storage. Lower-salt and semi-dried styles have shorter shelf lives. See our guide on storing dried seafood.
