King Crab
Red, golden and blue king crab, cooked frozen or live by request

For items outside our core range, BSA Food Products sources selected premium marine products such as king crab, langoustine, geoduck, lobster and large shrimp to a written brief, subject to season, origin and destination rules.
Indicative; confirmed per lot on each quotation.
A standing catalog cannot cover every request. Restaurant groups planning a seasonal menu, importers filling a gap in their portfolio and retailers assembling a festive range often need a product we do not hold all year. This page sets out what we can source on request and how to brief us so that the offer that comes back is specific enough to act on.
Typical requests include king crab legs and clusters (red, golden or blue, depending on origin), snow crab, langoustine (Nephrops norvegicus) whole or as tails, geoduck clam (Panopea generosa) live or frozen, spiny and clawed lobster, and large shrimp and prawns such as wild Argentine red shrimp or farmed tiger prawns. Availability depends on fishing seasons, quota openings, farm harvests and whether the origin is eligible for your market. Some markets also apply sanctions or import bans to particular origins, so the origin is always confirmed before we quote.
A useful brief names the product and preferred species, the format (live, chilled, raw frozen or cooked frozen), size or count, packing, destination port, expected volume and frequency, target arrival window, and any labeling or standards your own customers require. With that information we can check which origins could supply, which documents each would generate, and whether the logistics are realistic, for instance whether live geoduck can reach your market within its survival window.
Offers for request items follow the same disciplines as our core lines: species and origin are declared, glaze and net weight are stated for frozen goods, and documents are listed up front. Where a request cannot be met legally or reliably, we say so rather than offer a substitute you did not ask for. Start through our quote form or speak to an export specialist, and for menu-planning context see choosing premium seafood ingredients.
The items requested most often each have a dedicated page covering species, grades, formats, seasons and paperwork: king crab, snow crab, langoustine, geoduck, lobster and large shrimp and prawns. Read the relevant page before you brief us, since it lists the details we will ask for.

FAQ
At minimum: the product and species you have in mind, format, size or count, destination port or airport, approximate volume and how often you expect to reorder. Helpful extras are the packing you prefer, any labeling or retailer standards, and the date by which stock must be on your shelves. A precise brief shortens the number of rounds before a firm offer, especially for seasonal crab and live product.
Generally not. Request items are sourced to order from producers we evaluate for each inquiry, which keeps the product fresh to your specification rather than drawn from aged inventory. The trade-off is lead time: allow several weeks, and longer for items tied to a fishery opening or a permit. Regular buyers can set up a seasonal program so that allocations are reserved in advance.
Where feasible, yes. Live crustaceans need short, direct air routings, packers experienced in conditioning them for travel, and a destination that accepts live imports from that origin. We check all three before quoting and will suggest a cooked-frozen or raw-frozen alternative when the live route is too long. Our live abalone program follows the same approach to transit planning.
We tell you plainly and explain why, whether the reason is a closed season, a quota already taken, an origin your market does not accept or documentation that cannot be produced. Where a lawful alternative exists, such as a different origin or format, we set it out with its own specification so that you can decide. We do not substitute products without agreement.
